Damn it sucks being fat
Monday 15 September 2003 at 11:13 pm. And being a food lover. I thought I ate pretty well today. But no. That brownie, those Jelly Bellies, the 3 alcoholic drinks, and those hot wings with blue cheese. Yum! But crap. I'm supposed to eat 2000 calories a day so I become less fat. Exercise doesn't help because I just keep eating. I don't exercise hard enough that it doesn't matter I guess. Plus lets admit it, I hate to exercise. Unless there is some sort of goal, like kick the ball really far and run around the bases, I don't like exercise.Sure, I walked to the bank today, a half mile there and back, and took the stairs whenever possible at the office. Sure, the basement of the parking garage to the 2nd floor is only 8 sets of 7-8 stairs each, but that's like 40-45 vertical feet man! Hehehe...
Well, 2800 calories yesterday, 2600 today, maybe I'll get down to 2400 tomorrow. I control it. I could just eat nothing. But that would really suck. Really REALLY suck. So screw that.

Going with someone else to the gym (a friend or an SO) helps a lot. Each of you helps make sure the other one goes to the gym. It can also make it some kind of competition (which one lost a ponund (or 1/2 kg) this week?).
If you get even more hungry because of the gym… Try bringing fruit to work to eat it when you crave for it. And bring some granola bars, some pretzels, and some popcorn as a reserve, for when you can’t buy fresh fruit. It is a lot better than hitting the snack machine for those chocolate and candy bars.
It helps!
I have lost 17 pounds in 6 months.
Ura – a friend of mine, lost 55 pounds last year.
Lastra – another friend of mine has lost 30 pounds in 6 months.
(I guess I am the looser (or less looser) here, ain’t I?)
I agree with Jose on working fruit into your diet as snacks. I usualy buy an apple or banana at lunch and leave it at my desk. If I get hungry around 3, I eat it instead of the candy from the machine. I also cut down to one can of pop per day, then one per week, and now I seldom drink pop. I’ve mostly cut fast food fries out of my diet. Wendy’s Chicken Breast sandwitch along with a small chili is a nice meal. A cheese burger without mayo or special sause isn’t that bad for you. I also try to work some protien into every meal. I got this from checking out The Zone diet. It’s one of those protien diets, but is not at extreme as most of the others. Exersising can be tough. It helps a ton to do it with others, and/or have a goal. Make a very reasonable plan, something that won’t be so hard that you will dread it, and stick to it. The results will start making it fun. I like to go right after work because it’s hard to leave home once I get there.
That’s a lot of random thoughts. I hope there is something helpfull in there.

America is full of lard asses because of the backwards food pyramid; cut out the flour, more protein and fats.
